We recognize that dancing in front of strangers takes some courage! In return, we promise to show you a cardio class unlike anything you've tried and dare you to make it through the workout without smiling. We pride ourselves on creating an inclusive atmosphere that's not about being perfect. (Honestly, we don't give a sh*t if you mess up!) SIGNATURE CLASS
Turn off your brain and just follow along. This class is 80% cardio and 20% strength.
Think about this class as BLOCK21 101. The majority of classes we offer are Signature classes, and they are the place we recommend newbies to start. Class begins with a 5-minute athletic warm-up. We never stop moving and teach you bite-sized chunks of dance to keep our heart rates up while learning the moves. Half-way through class we have an interval section that incorporates strength, agility, and cardio. Next is the final dance section of class. By now, you’re feeling yourself, and you don’t care who’s watching. We end class with one 5-minute strength section to target one muscle group and one 5-minute cool down stretch. A 50-minute workout has never flown by so fast, we promise!
PERFORM CLASS
This class is all about the choreography. No intervals, no strength, no B.S., we’re here to dance.
Class begins with a 5-minute warm-up, and then we jump into learning a dance routine. We teach everything in small movements with the idea that, with repetition, the choreography will become embedded in your muscle memory. Don’t be fooled: This class packs a serious cardio punch. Once you have learned the entire dance, you begin to slowly speed it up. We break into groups to perform one final time and end class with a 5-minute cool-down stretch. This class is great for all levels and does not require any prior dance experience. You’ll be channeling your inner back-up dancer in no time.
BODY CLASS
Let's get toned. This class is 90% strength and 10% cardio.
This class is the perfect complement to our Signature class. After a warm-up, we’ll leave you through 5 songs of choreographed strength training focusing on different body parts: glutes, arms, abs, legs, shoulders. In addition to bodyweight movements, we use 2-5 lb weights, resistance bands, and gliders. Repeat these body parts once more and you’re done! *We recommend you bring your own yoga mat.
